SpaceXAI puts Grok, Cursor and X Premium on one 'X Subscription'

A single plan, from free to $200 a month, now covers Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor and X Premium, with one pool of Grok usage shared between Grok and Cursor. The company says it will make it available to everyone globally over the next few days.

SpaceXAI, SpaceX's AI division and the company behind the Grok models (it brands itself SpaceXSI on x.ai; the page footer names SpaceXAI LLC), on Monday 12 October 2026 announced The X Subscription, which it says "brings together Grok, Grok Bot, Cursor, and X Premium in one plan". The company says it is available to new customers from that day and adds: "Over the next few days, we'll make it available to everyone globally."

Who owns what

On the reports and statements below, all three products now sit within SpaceX:

  • X: Elon Musk said in March 2025 that xAI had acquired X in an all-stock deal, TechCrunch reported at the time.
  • xAI: SpaceX merged with xAI earlier this year, according to CNBC and TechCrunch. The announcement page's legal footer reads "© 2026 SpaceXAI LLC", and it refers to its models as "SpaceXAI models".
  • Cursor: Cursor said on 14 August that it "has officially been acquired by SpaceX" (Cursor blog). We covered the deal when it was signed in June: SpaceX Is Buying Cursor for $60 Billion.

The plans

The announcement lists five tiers. All prices are per month, in US dollars:

PlanPriceIncluded usage (company's description)
Free$0Limited
Plus$8Base
Premium$304x Plus Plan
Super$10015x Plus Plan
Ultra$20050x Plus Plan

The company describes Premium as "The benefits of SuperGrok, Cursor Pro, and X Premium+, previously $90/month combined". It also says the bundle gives "Grok, Cursor, and X for roughly what a comparable standalone plan for one of those products used to cost." Those are the company's comparisons; we have not checked the old prices independently.

Team plans cost the same per seat as individual plans, at $30, $100 or $200, according to the announcement.

One usage pool, with a weekly refresh

Paid plans include what the company calls "a generous pool of Grok model usage shared across Grok and Cursor". Its FAQ says the pool covers Grok's Chat, Imagine, Voice and Grok Bot, that "usage costs vary by product", and: "Your allowance refreshes weekly". Users who run out can keep going with top-ups or wait for the refresh.

The company also says each plan "includes at least twice as much coding usage with our models as the comparable Cursor plan".

Other AI models in Cursor are billed separately

Under the new plans, the company says, "third-party models are still available in Cursor on Premium and above. Usage is billed separately at API list prices, through top-ups." The pricing page adds that the self-serve plans "do not include an allowance for third-party models". The FAQ says people already on a Cursor plan keep their included third-party usage "until you switch to The X Subscription".

Existing subscribers and UK buyers

Existing SuperGrok, Cursor and X Premium subscribers can keep their current plans or switch and receive a prorated refund, the company says. The previous plans "are no longer available for new sign-ups". It adds that it will eventually move remaining customers to the new plans, "but there's no timeline yet, and we'll give advance notice".

We read the pricing page from the UK. It lists the plans in dollars and says "Prices shown do not include applicable taxes or fees (e.g. VAT)." We found no sterling prices on the pages we could read at the time of writing. X's own help pages blocked our requests, so we could not check them.

Why it matters

On our reading, this ties a chatbot, a coding tool and a social network into one bill. The pooled usage means spending on one product reduces what is left for the other. It continues a shift we looked at in July in Why Your AI Subscription Is Turning Into a Meter, where flat-rate AI plans are increasingly priced around usage allowances. Cursor users who rely on non-Grok models should note that, by the company's own terms, the new self-serve plans include no allowance for those models: that usage is paid separately at API list prices.
