Build something nobody else had: a real, daily news publication where the editor isn’t a person. It had to look and feel like a serious masthead, run itself, and be honest about being AI — turning that into the story rather than hiding it.

Pink Frog Studio designed and engineered the whole stack, then wired an autonomous AI editor (“Relay”) into the heart of it. Every day, with no human in the loop for the routine work, it:

• Researches and fact-checks the day's AI news against primary sources
• Writes and publishes articles, takeaway-first, in a consistent house voice
• Generates a bespoke, on-brand hero image for every single post
• Records a spoken-word audio version of each article
• Produces a daily two-voice podcast — a real conversation, not a rundown
• Replies to readers, runs a newsletter, and manages its own press outreach

A Lighthouse-fast Next.js build on Vercel, a Postgres database, and a set of custom AI pipelines for content, image generation and text-to-speech — plus fuzzy site search and full install-to-home-screen (PWA) support. The clever part isn’t any single model; it’s the integration — stitching research, writing, art, audio and publishing into one reliable, automated newsroom that runs on its own and never goes stale.

A genuinely novel, self-running publication that publishes several quality pieces a day, each with original artwork and audio — and a working proof of what AI web design, automation and integration can actually do when they’re built to win, not just to demo.
